After 2 years of virtual parties because of this !@#$%! pandemic, we were finally able to meet and eat and play in person again,
as "We're Back in the Groove" for Chili Bowl 33 1/3!
After many discussions, we decided to make two changes this year, moving the party to a later date and an earlier time, when the weather would allow us to be outdoors.
We even planned a rain date, which turned out to be a good choice as we had to postpone the original date due to rain!
Party day dawned, sun was shining, and we setup for an afternoon yard party, with only the food inside. Some folks were still uncomfortable with these plans, and we missed you all!
The rest of us spent an afternoon enjoying chili, beer, and catching up with friends we really hadn't seen in a couple of years. Some wore masks, some were ok without. Everyone was patient and understanding of everyone else's different levels of comfort, and we pulled off an in-person Chili Bowl once again.
We had a smaller number of entries this year, but each fantastic in its own way. Of the originally promised 8, 7 made it to the party, to the delight of everyone.
Online voting was back again this year, and is definitely our primary mode of voting now!
Let us know what you think of the new timing, check out the winners, the party in pictures, and get to work on your recipe for the 35th!!!
